Reading through the more sensible comments here - these servers were for old games, up to 13 year old games, with online features that malicious hackers used to spread transphobic and otherwise vile messages in a game that, if anybody still pays it, will have children playing it. So once again commenters on the internet jump in to feel incensed at something they know nothing about.
